Tom & Erica At Copia
Guitarist Tom Byrne will again team with singer Erika Johnson from 7 to 10 this Friday, Oct. 9, at Copia Wine Bar in downtown St. Louis. They’ll be playing on the large patio in back with the very cool triple-panel retractable roof…..star-gazing if weather permits! The following evening at 9, the Tom Byrne Trio will appear at Kinda Blue in south city. Joining Tom will be bassist Willem von Hombracht and drummer Montez Coleman. venues: the intimate & funky Kinda Blue Club!
October At Thurman’s
October’s live jazz schedule is TBD at Thurman’s Grill and Bar. So far, bassist Willem von Hombracht will play at 7 p.m. on the 8th, and Jim Manley and Randy Bahr will play at 9 p.m. (or when the Cards game is over) on the 9th.
St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival At Evangeline’s
The St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival, featuring the genre of music created in the 1930s by the great guitarist Django Reinhardt, will take place the weekend of Oct. 23-25, all at Evangeline’s Bistro and Music House, 512 North Euclid in the St. Louis Central West End. Musicians from St. Louis as well as from around the country will be on hand to provide entertainment throughout the weekend. More information is available on Facebook/St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival. Jazz Jam At Shaker’s
Shaker’s, 554 East Broadway, in Alton, is the place for a weekly jazz jam session from 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays, hosted by Ellen Martinez and Bob Werner. Amps and PA systems are provided. More information is available by calling (618) 462-4945.
