Be sure to tune in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays for St. Louis Jazz Talk, a production of WSIE-FM honoring the great jazz talent we have in the St. Louis area–both current and past. Join Dick Ulett and co-hosts Mike and Rob Silverman as they talk with local talent and feature their music. WSIE-FM loves St. Louis and the jazz that emanates from this great city. Holmes, Lennon And True Out And About

Vocalist Debby Lennon will perform with her group–pianist Carolbeth True, bassist Ric Vise and drummer Dave True–at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29th, at Concord Trinity Methodist Church, 5275 South Lindbergh (between Gravois and Tesson Ferry). Trumpeter Randy Holmes and his quartet–with vocalist Kim Fuller, pianist Carolbeth True, bassist Glen Smith and drummer Kevin Gianino–will perform the music of Billie Holiday and other jazz greats at The Ozark Theatre from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

Mancuso, Glenn To Headline

Award-winning jazz vocalists Joe Mancuso and Charles Glenn will headline the Second Annual Voices of St. Louis Concert Benefiting Multiple Sclerosis research starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at The Sheldon Concert Hall, 3648 Washington Boulevard, in St. Louis in back of The Fox Theatre. This musical event will also spotlight St. Louis vocalists Justin Mayfield and Zelina Star. The mission of this annual event is to raise money for MS research and to showcase up and coming St. Louis based singers. The band for the event is made up of St. Louis musicians including guitarist Dave Black, Pete Ruthenburg on piano, bassist Vince Clark, tenor saxophonist Christopher Braig, violinist Nikki Glenn and drummer James Jackson. Jazz Jam At Shaker’s

Shaker’s, 554 East Broadway, in Alton, is the place for a weekly jazz jam session from 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays, hosted by Ellen Martinez and Bob Werner. Amps and PA systems are provided. More information is available by calling (618) 462-4945.
