Terence Blanchard Interview for Jazz Preview
Jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard was featured recently on Jazz Preview with your host, Greg Conroy, who caught up with the popular trumpeter during a visit to St. Louis. The New Orleans native was in town for preliminary rehearsals for “Champion,” Blanchard’s new “opera in jazz” to premiere June 15 at Opera Theatre of St. Louis. The world premiere will be performed at the Loretto-Hilton Center in Webster Groves.

Terence Blanchard Addresses Students
As part of his recent visit to St. Louis, Terence Blanchard took time to address students about the experience of writing an opera and about the opera itself. Click here for the audio of that seminar.
Jazz Preview, From the Sidelines and Metro Talk
As a public service, WSIE-FM brings you shows that entertain and inform in addition to broadcasting exciting modern American Jazz. Below are audio downloads for two examples—Jazz Preview, featuring interviews with jazz performers who have made a name for themselves nationally and internationally, and in most cases with a connection to the St. Louis Area—and From the Sidelines, a new series featuring broadcasting veteran Tom Dehner, retired WSIE news and public affairs coordinator, who provides musings, memories and humorous anecdotes from more than 40 years in the communications business in the St. Louis Area.
From the Sidelines was brought to you by the generous folks at TheBANK of Edwardsville through 2012. We’re currently seeking underwriting support for this show. Enjoy!
